How do I know I am getting good advice?

It may not always be obvious to you that you are getting good advice because the process is an ongoing one and the outputs really only materialise when your goals are reached. However, there are a few pointers we would recommend you look for along the way and if it doesn’t feel right, raise a flag:

  • Make sure you are speaking to someone who has an FSP license
  • Refer to client testimonials or ask to be put in touch with existing clients
  • All recommendations should be thoroughly discussed with you and put in writing. Keep asking questions until you feel comfortable with what is being recommended to you
  • Make sure your financial advisor is an independent advisor – this way you can be sure you are getting unbiased advice
  • Ask your advisor how they are paid
  • Investigate your advisors experience, credentials and longevity in the industry
  • Make sure the conversation is both ways; are you being heard?
  • Make sure you are comfortable with the risks being explained to you
How much do you charge?
Your first meeting is FREE. This is so you can tell us what you need and we can assess whether we can help you. Thereafter we charge an hourly rate + VAT to draw up, document and present your financial plan to you. If you then decide to implement the plan with us, we charge an ongoing advice fee as a % of assets under our advice.

Set up a first meeting with us and we will take you through all the numbers in more detail.
What if I don’t want to work with you anymore?
We understand that this might occur. Please contact us and tell us you’re leaving and the reasons if you feel comfortable to. This will help us to continually improve our service.
Which companies do you work with?

We are independent advisors so we can work with whomever we feel is best for you. Below is the list of current preferred providers with whom we have contractual relationships:

  • Allan Gray
  • Coronation
  • Glacier by Sanlam
  • Investec
  • Momentum (Investments & Life)

I don’t live in Cape Town, can I still work with you?
Yes you can. We have many clients throughout South Africa and some of them even live abroad. Contact us and we’ll let you know how this works.
What makes you different?
We’re an all-female team – if this resonates with you, you’ll know that you’ll get the empathy, attention to detail and care that generally comes with working with women. We do however hope one day to have men in our team too. 😊

As a team, we also hold the following in very high regard:
The Truth – we’ll tell you the truth and you should expect that anyway. If we can’t help you, we will tell you this and as far as possible, help you find someone who can.
Simplicity – we will talk to you in plain English and we’ll spend as much time as you need until it all makes sense.
Transparency – nothing will ever be hidden from you, including the fees you pay
Fairness – everyone is equal and we treat everyone equally
Holistic – as far as you will allow us, we would like to look at your financial situation in a holistic manner. You will get and we will be able to give the most appropriate advice to you with an overall view of you situation.

We really do believe that your money is more than just your investments. It is your road to reach your goals and financial freedom.
Can you help me with my medical aid options or short term insurance?
We don’t deal specifically with medical aids or short term insurance, but we can refer you on to great outsourced partners who have helped many of our clients.
What charitable organisations do you support?
PRFS has been supporting the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital for the past ten years. The latest donation has been allocated to the upgrade and expansion of the Emergency Centre
